This section provides some pointers about using the browser most conveniently.
Window Moving, Hiding When in a consultation, the questions you are asked appear in the large window. When a recommendation comes up it will be in a new window on top of the question. You can move the Recommendation window in order to see the question behind it, if you wish, by holding down the left mouse button while dragging the title bar of the Recommendation window or you can click anywhere in the question window to minimize the window in front of it. You can enlarge it again by clicking on its icon at the bottom of the screen.
It is best to close Recommendation windows (by clicking the upper right corner close button) when you are finished reading. This avoids collecting extra minimized windows.
Similarly, Help and Reference windows also appear on top of the questions they relate to. They too can be moved or minimized and should be closed when you finish with them.
Each question window has a button which links to that question in the Flowchart. Using these permits you to see where you are in the consultation process. Each element of the Flowchart has a link back to its corresponding question, recommendation or comment.
After you are familiar with the program you may use the Flowchart to quickly get to information you want to see. You may find it convenient to adjust the size of the Flowchart window depending on what you are doing - larger when it is the main focus of your attention or smaller when you primarily want to see questions. Minimizing it or moving it to the side are alternatives too.
Window Size Adjustment The space allocated for the menu window at the bottom of the screen can be adjusted by slowly moving the cursor over the border between the windows. The cursor turns to a double arrow which can be dragged by depressing the left mouse button.
Moving forward and backward The browser's forward and backward commands allow you to retrace your steps during a consultation. Another way to move back is by pressing the right mouse button while pointing anywhere in the window. A menu will pop up including forward and back options, which you can click.
Viewing other windows while doing a consultation The menu from which you accessed this help window lists many other windows you can visit. If you are doing a consultation and want to see one of these windows, your place in the consultation will be retained. To return to the consultation, close the top window and your current position in the consultation will be visible again.
Printing a frame Press the right mouse button in the frame, and click on the print option.
Recommendation numbers At the end of each recommendation there is a unique identifying number. When reporting either a completed drug trial or the start of a new trial this number should be used to identify the patient's current place in the algorithm. The recommendation numbers are also shown in the flowchart for convenience.
