Get More Mileage from Windshield Wiper Blades

Rainy windshield and truck safety tips

Worried about an ineffective windshield wiper blade?

Follow these three steps to possibly extend the life of your wiper blades by a season or two:

  1. Inspect the wiper blades for physical damage, such as cuts, nicks or degraded rubber. If any damage is found, replace the blade at your local MHC dealer. If no damage is found, move to step 2.

  2. Wet a clean towel or rag with rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits.

  3. Clean the working edges of the wiper blades with the rag from one end to the other, making sure they are clean and free of dirt.

While this technique won’t revive worn or damaged wiper blades, it does help prolong the lifespan until you’re ready to purchase new blades.

Schedule a service appointment at your local MHC today to get ready for RoadCheck and ramp up for warmer weather!
