The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) announced it will be conducting the annual International Roadcheck May 4-6, 2021. This year’s inspection spree will focus on lighting and hours of service.
In 2020, the lighting violation “lamps inoperable” was the number one vehicle violation, accounting for approximately 12 percent of all vehicle violations discovered last year. The top driver out-of-service violation category was hours of service, accounting for nearly 35 percent of all driver out-of-service conditions.
Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial vehicles in the world. On average, nearly 15 trucks or buses are inspected every minute across North America.
Drivers can now access North American standard out-of-service criteria anywhere via the CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria app. To download the app, search for “CVSA” in the App Store or Google Play. Select “CVSA Out-of-Service Criteria.” Once you’ve downloaded the app, set up your account with your first and last name and the email address associated with the App Store or Google Play. Then you’ll have the option to purchase the new 2021 criteria.
