Medical & Prescription Coverage
MHC offers a High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account. This type of plan allows employees to pay a lower premium and save those dollars in an account to use for future medical expenses. After meeting the deductible, the plan covers a portion of medical and prescription expenses.
Health Savings Account
For employees enrolled on the HDHP health plan, a Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged trust account that allows you to take charge of your health, your savings and your future. It allows you to put away tax-free dollars to help pay for your eligible health care expenses including medical deductibles and co-insurance, prescription drugs, dental, vision and certain premium expenses like COBRA and/or Medicare premiums, both today and in the future. Your HSA account is portable and your account balance rolls over from year to year with your funds available for future qualified expenses even into retirement.
401k Savings Plan
The 401k Plan allows pretax contributions, of which the company will match 75% of the first 4% of salary you contribute. Eligible employees may participate in the 401k Plan on the first entry date after 90 days of employment.
The Profit-Sharing Plan can reward eligible participants with a discretionary, employer-funded contribution in addition to the normal 401k match to your retirement savings.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Instead of the traditional vacation, holiday and sick leave programs, MHC offers a PTO benefit program. Our generous, industry-leading PTO program allows 17 paid days off your first year of employment. The number of paid days off is based on your years of service and increases to 27 paid days off after 10 years of service.
Employees who participate in the Get Fit/Be Fit/Live Fit Wellness Program will earn an incentive to make healthy lifestyle choices and positive changes regarding nutrition, exercise and tobacco usage.
Dental insurance, an important part of your overall health coverage, includes everything from semi-annual teeth cleaning to orthodontia and is included in your medical insurance premium.
Basic Term Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage
MHC provides basic life insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage for eligible employees. The amount of coverage is $25,000 and premiums are paid by MHC. Additional voluntary term life insurance coverage is also available.
The purpose of disability insurance is to provide replacement income when personal injury or sickness causes you to be absent from work. Voluntary short and long term disability insurance is available.
Flexible Spending Account
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a separate benefit plan that allows you to direct a part of your pay, on a pre-tax basis, into a special account that can be used throughout the year to reimburse yourself for certain medical and/or dependent care out-of-pocket expenses. Because this money goes into your FSA before federal or state income or Social Security taxes are withheld, you pay less in taxes, and ultimately, have more disposable income.
MHC encourages furthering your academic education by providing financial assistance for studies related to your work or advancement within the company.
Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program is confidential and free to all employees. The EAP provides information, resources, counseling, audio library services and referrals when you and/or your family members need some practical help with a personal situation that is troublesome or challenging.
