LEAWOOD, Kan., May 15, 2015 – Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC) received the 2015 Champion of Business award by the Kansas City Business Journal among 14 other companies at a ceremony in Overland Park.

This is the second time MHC has been nominated and earned the prestigious designation. This year, the 15 honorees were selected for industry leadership, innovation and a commitment to community involvement. Independent judges selected honorees from a pool of 57 nominees. Criteria included being headquartered in the Kansas City metro area, having been in business at least three years and earning a gross revenue of at least $3 million.

“It is a great honor to be recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal and to be included in this distinguished list of Kansas City companies,” MHC CEO Tim Murphy said. “Our success is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of our employees here in Kansas City and our 95 locations throughout the U.S. that service both customers and communities.”

MHC has celebrated many achievements leading up to receiving the 2015 Champions of Business award, including the launch of www.mhc.com, a new, responsive website. The company received Kenworth Truck Company’s 2014 Dealer of the Year and PACCAR Engine Dealer of the Year awards for North America earlier this year.

In the past 12 months, MHC has continued to expand its network, renovate its dealerships and invest in technology for both the company and its customers. MHC Truck Leasing partnered with Blue Tree Systems to help its fleet and customers increase efficiency and reduce operating costs. The company recently opened an Online Parts Counter, an e-commerce store that allows customers to manage parts inventory and place orders.

Located across 13 states, MHC is a network of more than 95 locations, including 61 heavy and medium duty truck dealers, 35 MHC Truck Leasing locations, four Carrier Transicold locations, and a wholly-owned finance company, MHC Financial Services. MHC features Kenworth, Hino, Ford, Volvo and Isuzu trucks. Through its formal quality program, MHC delivers excellent service to its customers and maintains ISO 9001 certification.
