MHC CFO Named "CFO of the Year"

MHC CFO Jeff Johnson earns 2021 KCBJ's CFO of the Year Award

LEAWOOD, Kan., Aug. 2, 2021 ― Murphy-Hoffman Company’s (MHC) Chief Financial Officer, Jeff Johnson, received the Kansas City Business Journal’s CFO of the Year award for demonstrating commitment to excellence and responsible management of company financials.

Johnson was one of 16 honorees selected for the annual award, who were chosen by a panel of independent judges from a pool of candidates nominated by colleagues and business partners. Judges weigh nominees’ contributions to their company’s growth and financial success, their roles in corporate management and strategic planning, as well as community involvement.

Johnson has worked at MHC since 2007, and has led the charge on many company milestones, including expanding and enhancing MHC’s wholly owned finance company, MHC Financial Services. He has also been involved with organizations such as the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, American Heart Association and the local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society chapter. Johnson was recognized with 15 other honorees at a luncheon in Kansas City on July 30.

“We are proud to celebrate Jeff as a Kansas City Business Journal CFO of the Year honoree,” MHC Executive Chairman Tim Murphy said. “As an essential business, we remained open during the unprecedented global pandemic, and Jeff’s tremendous leadership helped keep us focused and deliver great results. He consistently embodies MHC’s philosophy of ‘Whatever It Takes’ with honesty, integrity and a strong work ethic, earning respect from both his employees and business partners alike.”
